D小調安魂彌撒曲,作品626號，簡稱《安魂曲》，是莫扎特最後一部作品，寫於1791年。在當年7月，一位不知名人士要求他創作《安魂曲》，且必須匿名。今日我們知道是瓦爾塞根伯爵，人們猜想或許他想讓他的朋友們猜作者的名字，又或許想將著作權據為己有。因疾病和貧窮而衰弱的莫扎特，還必須面對工作的重負，因為他在八月初收到一份關於為神聖羅馬帝國皇帝利奧波德二世的加冕創作歌劇的請求（狄托的仁慈K.621），而且必須於三周內寫完。三十五歲的莫扎特於十二月辭世，留下未完成的《安魂曲》（受其妻子康絲坦茲之託，後來這首曲子由他的學生完成，Franz Xavier Süssmayer而後又由Sigismund von Neukomm接手）。Neukomm的集成版只於1819年在里約熱內盧演奏，之後就被人們忘記了。第二次演奏於2006年3月10日在Liévin為紀念Courrières礦難而進行。
有個傳奇故事說莫扎特在《安魂曲》里見到了自己即將死去的先兆，這個傳說被用在福爾曼的電影《阿馬德烏斯》里，這其中浪漫的想象多過於事實。
額外要強調的是，《安魂曲》並非「無名氏」或「黑衣人」所委託，而是瓦爾塞根伯爵委託莫扎特為悼念伯爵的亡妻所寫，當時他剛剛完成《魔笛》的創作不久。
全曲共八個章節，結構如下：

Dies irae, dies illa

Day of wrath, day of anger
will dissolve the world in ashes,
as foretold by David and the Sibyl.
Great trembling there will be
when the Judge descends from heaven
to examine all things closely.
